I began the first step by creating the buff, confident, Chris the naked molerat.

As a twist to his personality I Made his stance and expression less flamboyant to express a more modest character.

For the adaptation of Chanse I gave the character an absolute 180, giving him the generic "quiet kid" look. I also realized at this stage that there is literally no reason for these characters to be naked molerats but I was on too much of a creative high to question it.

Finally I decided to abandon the obvious lovability that each of the other molerats had and create Chandler the Cursed Molerat™, a much more antagonistic character with a very reserved posture and essentially the polar opposite to the initial drawing.
